Shipping Time Guide for Holiday Season 2021

Christmas is going to be here before you know it. Shopping for those loved ones on your list can be quite challenging.  Sometimes it can take nearly to the holiday to find that special gift while browsing all the latest and greatest gifts and other trendy merchandise. The Parker Shoppes began their journey long ago and with all the amazing items we have available, we hope you will continue to shop with us while many of the other retailers may not be receiving their inventories due to the offshore shipping issues.

Coupled with high fuel prices, this has led many shippers to charge more for shipping.  After last year’s debacle with longer holiday shipping times, this is most likely going to occur again this year.  We know how important it is to make sure that gifts get to your loved ones in due time. As we have started selling our amazing items online, we generally ship USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, and FedEx.  All of these carriers have advised of holiday shipping surcharges, cutoff dates, and possible longer shipping times.

Some may elect to ship a package to a friend or loved one, so we figured we would share some of this great information we use on a daily basis allowing you to not have to try to dig through all the weeds on every shipping site.

USPS

UPS

One of the great tools at UPS is where you can enter all of your shipping information and they can tell you pretty much when you package will get there → https://wwwapps.ups.com/calTimeCost

As far as cutoff times:

UPS Ground - They recommend using the tool we linked above:

Expedited UPS 3-Day - December 21st

Expedited UPS 2nd Day Air - December 22nd

Expedited UPS Next Day Air - December 23rd

Keep in mind while Christmas lands on a Saturday, there will be UPS services for pickup or delivery.  UPS has simple surcharges to know will apply to your package deliveries applicable from October 3, 2021 to January 15, 2022:

Additional Handling $6.00 per package

Large Package Surcharge $60.00 per package

Over Maximum Limits $250.00 per package

FedEx

FedEx is actually been very simplistic compared with other shipping carriers.

Cutoffs:

FedEx Express Saver 12/21

FedEx does not show any true peak surcharges except for fuel and as we post this, they are only showing through November 14th.  We would recommend you check the following link when you are getting closer to shipping a package to determine if your FedEx shipping method may contain a fuel surcharge:

DHL

DHL is out there, but with the speed of FedEx and UPS and USPS Express Priority, we rarely use DHL, but that is not say they are still a great carrier, but here are their shipping deadlines:

DHL Service Estimated Transit Times Shipping Deadlines

DHL Express Worldwide 1-2 Business days December 22, 2021

DHL Economy Select 1-5 Business days December 19, 2021

DHL Domestic Express Next Business day December 23, 2021

DSmartMail Expedited Max Up to 8 days December 17, 2021

SmartMail Expedited Up to 10 days December 15, 2021

SmartMail Ground Up to 15 days December 11, 2021

Looking at DHLs, surcharges, they are broken out by weight and Zones 1-8 are running $0.15 to $2.00 while zones 11-13 run $0.30 to $5.00.  We recommend checking out DHL’s website when you get closer to shipping.
